Links, Olympics, Updates, Randomness. My Life

Hi everyone!! It's been weird today not spending all my time on gmail, pinterest, blogspot, & other random things you can do on the internet :P Instead I was studying hard in my SAT class! ...right... My last post about the handwriting experimente gives you a good idea of what I actually do...didn't get to do any left hand writing today though. Friday is my last class and I'm so happy...I just have to get good scores on the final tests xP The studying and homework is not over -.-
This post will be pretty much fluff :3 Read the fluffiness below ~

(H)PoD:
But for a cheer-me-up, those who don't know what PoD is, it's the Picture of the Day! I found one today online, it wasn't taken by me. Actually it's not really an actual picture at all :3 the H in front of the PoD stands for happy :) So today's picture is going to be a happy picture!!! Here ya go:

some of my favorite things~ coffee & books :)
What makes you happy?

Random Links
Humans of New York
This is probably the most interesting photography blog I have ever seen. It is seriously awesome. The photographer/blogger is so creative with his pictures (they're all of people, but some are VERY interesting :) & his captions! His little notes on the bottoms of the pictures make my day :D Here are some of my favorites~
She's just fixin' her melon.
These guys were default league champions because all the other teams forfeited out of fear.
It's tough out there alone.
Let's hope HIS name is Ken, and not his barber's.
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
"May I take your photo? You look beautiful."
"OK, just make sure you can see the bag."
"Oh, I didn't realize you were advertising something."
"Isn't everything beautiful advertising something?"
The painter heard me laughing, and without looking down, said: "Boogie's looking at you sideways, isn't he?"
"You're all going to be famous!"
"Famoso?"
"Famoso!"
I had to stop myself from putting more!! They're all amazing, creative, and funny. All thanks to A Cup of Joe who shared this on her blog :)

Another random link...if you go on this, it will help the world...: FreeRice
If you're bored but still want to be productive, go on this link. It's literally an english quiz, asking you what certain words mean (it's really really easy, ex: penny------answer: cent). And for each question you get right the website will donate 10 grains of rice to the World Hunger Programme to fight world hunger. That's actually a lot more than it sounds because the questions are so easy!!! I got 100,000 grains before I stopped. I didn't even get one wrong...and I was really bored :P Play some!! It'll be one little step in helping the world :)

Olympic News:
Ally Raisman gets the bronze and gold!! So amazing!! She just squeezed in a bronze medal on the beam and performed perfection on the floor :) Her movements were so graceful and effortless. It was probably the best day of her life.

Update:
Finished my scrapbook of letters!! It turned out way better than I expected and the post will be coming soon!!
Also, I spent yesterday making some origami boxes and things. Some of them were pretty cool (well as cool as boxes can get :) I'll post some tutorials and pictures of them.

Hope you guys are having a good day~ mine's nearly over..just need to go and watch more olympics!! (volleyball!!!)
Be Happy everyone!

Time to Get Fit for Sports!

I play tennis on my high school tennis team...and I've never actually been in the best shape when the season starts. I'm hoping this year it'll be different.
fuzzy :)

I actually just had a tennis lesson! It's so humid out and I was sweating buckets but I did well today. And I was talking to my teacher/coach/whatever you want to call him, Kevin, and he gave me some things to do to be fit for tennis :) Try them with me! I don't know if it will help with actually playing your sport but it will definitely get you into shape!

Kerri Strug: Inspiring Story of Courage & Strength

I wanted to add "Hard Work" to the title too, but that might have been too long. So official title!:

Kerri Strug: Inspiring Story of Hard Work, Courage, & Strength

nbcolympics.com~ Kerri Strug 1996

I heard about Kerri Strug from the NBC news' broadcast tonight and it was truly inspiring. Maybe you watched it too, but first they were talking about Gabby Douglas's big gold medal win (which is also really inspiring. I'm really happy for her and all the positive impacts her victory will probably have) and then they went back in time to the last time the USA Womens Oympic Gymnastics team won gold, 1996. All the old gymnasts were there, I can't name all of them from the top of my head, but they spoke of that long long time ago with happiness and a twinkle in their eyes. One of their best achievements was probably made on that massive Olympic stage and their story is truly a tale of strength and hard work. Kerri Strug was the star though because she proved herself to be beyond the expectations of others and won the gold for her team.

The Weekend is Finally Here!

Here are some recipes for the weekend!

Happy Bread~

its so pretty & yummy looking :)

This one is from the foodivakitchen blog. She has a lot of good recipes and they all look really good!
This recipe though, the happy bread, looks so pretty. Look at those swirls! How did she come up with this idea! I really want to try to make bread like this.. and then eat it x) Here's the recipe, it's toward the end of the page. Hope you enjoy making it and eating it if you get the chance!

Here's another recipe which be for breakfast tomorrow, or anytime really~

Cream Cheese Pancakes~

look at that syrup! & look at its fluffiness!!
Here's the recipe from myrecipes.com. I think the cream cheese addition makes the pancakes look fluffier, taste fluffier, and just melt in your mouth . I want to try it so badly!! After waffles, pancakes are my next favorite food ^^

This would be a great day to start off the day with~ even the baking process of it! It's definitely Saturday morning breakfast material x)

Thinking of the fluffiness of the pancakes made me think of this, from one of my favorite movies:

Despicable Me!!

Ps. My parents are watching nbc news right now and two interesting facts I heard:
  1. Gabby Douglas's last name unscrambled : douglas = usa gold :)
  2. If Michael Phelps was a country, he would be tied with India for the most medals xD He's just amazing

Have a good weekend guys!!

Korean Cakes & Olympics!!

I'm really in a cake-y mood right now...and what I really want is a korean cake.

1. They're so pretty

2. They almost always have fruit in sugar glaze :)
3. They're not too sweet, not too bland, they're    perfection !
These are Paris Baguette cakes~ Paris Baguette is a korean cafe and you can find them in America! They're actually pretty popular I think.
They sell bread (๋นต), cakes, ice cream, coffee, it's so nice in there. The sitting area is really comfortable and each branch differs from each other.
I actually only have had a Paris Baguette cake ONCE in my life...it's sad. The only bad thing about these cakes is that they're expensive. Like $40-$50 !! Sighs.
I need to bake myself one! I will, maybe, someday~

Well I'm still in a cake-y mood. I need sweets >.< Maybe the olympics will distract me! Gabby Douglas is competing soon for the All Around and I'm so excited!!!!!! She's definitely going to be one of the gymnasts in the running for the gold...I can't wait to see her routines again and I pray she sticks all of them! She's so good anyways though, there probably won't be any mistakes x) Does anyone else get really nervous though when watching them do all their routines??? I get so nervous and stressed just watching them do all their flips and turns and everything. Just think of how much practice they have to put in just to be close to perfect, yet you can still make mistakes because it's just THAT hard. And they're all 16 or 17, my age!! It's crazy, I really need to learn to work hard like them and be really motivated to achieve my dreams.

Go Gabby & Aly!!! Go for the Gold!!

*Update*
Gabby Douglas makes history, being the first African-American to win a gold medal :) I'm so happy for her and I seriously can't believe she's 16. That's my age!!

She made it onto cereal boxes! Just like
Shawn Johnson (:
GOLD!! (douglas = usa gold :)
